TFW Recruit Mission, Day 6

Low intensity day. I slept for over 14 hours last night, and then took a bit of a nap this afternoon. The earache is mostly gone now, but I have developed a sore back from all that horizontal time.

I had only one meal today - steak and potatoes. I feel kind of bloated, actually...

TFW Recruit Mission, Day 5

No intensity day - good thing, as I am sick again. This time I have a sore throat with an earache. Food today was mostly gimbap. Going to bed early.

TFW Recruit Mission, Day 4

High Intensity Day - Workout 85-100%HRM
Score = 40

Not a bad day. I had a smoked chicken omelette for breakfast (home), spaghetti with meat sauce for lunch (NY, NY), and some toast with butter for dinner. My energy level was low at work, but the spaghetti really picked me up so I was able to really hit the high intensity day hard. I improved my scores on several exercises, but now I feel like I've been hit by a truck (in a good way, I think...).

I am ready for the next cycle of TFW, and the TF diet. Breakfast within one hour of waking up - I can do that.

TFW Recruit Mission, Day 3
Meditated in the AM, worked on thesis and exercised PM. Had eggs and toast for breakfast, duck galbi for dinner - very tasty.

Moderate Intensity Day - Workout 65-85%HRM
Score = 34

I am unsure of my heart rate. I still realy want a heart rate monitor so I know what's actually going on during moderate workouts.

TFW Recruit Mission, Day 2
I got up early and meditated, then worked on my thesis before work today. Did yoga just a few minutes ago - now time for bed. I ate smoked chicken for breakfast, gimbap for lunch, and dalkgalbi for dinner. I managed to keep myself to reasonable portions as well - a good day, overall.

Getting back on the wagon. Again.

My last entry was in December, well before Christmas. Since then I've on and off with TFW, but mostly off. I didn't gain a lot of weight during the holidays, but I did get squishier. I also realized that my forearms have shrunk considerably, and my grip strength is a fraction of what it used to be. To top it all off, our friends threw a fantastic surprise engagement party for us this past weekend and took about a hundred pictures of me.

The pics ended up on Facebook, and it was horrifying. I look awful - paunchy, balding, tired, and old. My fiancée, of course, looks fabulous in these same pictures. She is a lovely and patient woman, with apparently terrible eyesight...

This was just the motivation I needed to get off my ass and back to work. I feel lousy, I look lousy, and I'm accomplishing nothing right now - time for some structure.

New shedule starts tomorrow. TFW recruit and cleansing diet to get things rolling again. Stay tuned.

About Me

I'm Linus, a 46 year-old ex-jock and martial artist who is getting back in shape. I was at 320 pounds at my heaviest, and my goal weight is 220. I was over halfway there until I fell off the wagon. Starting over is a bitch.

I enjoy kettlebells, clubbells, macebell, grip training, short steel bending, MMA, handball, squash, and badminton, but now that I live in a tiny apartment in South Korea, I am using TacFit Warrior. I just barely tolerate running...
