6.5.11

Haven't had much luck with TFW this week. Sore back and twinges in my left shoulder have kept me off the mat, but I have been running. I stepped it up to week 4 of C25K and it was still pretty easy. I seem to have retained a bit more cardio capability than I thought. Just to be on the safe side, I'm going to finish out this week before moving on to week 5 but I am sure that I could handle it now.

The area we live in now is quite hilly, which makes running a lot more interesting. I am, however, looking for a better place to run - the traffic here is crazy.

So, where do you run...? I lapsed in DC and then there wasn't/isn't anywhere save to run here.

I run in the evenings around my neighborhood. I wait until the traffic has died down (I usually run after 10:00PM) and I stick to side streets, but it is still kind of scary due to the narow streets and the lack of sidewalks. I only put one earbud in so I can listen for cars.

About Me

I'm Linus, a 46 year-old ex-jock and martial artist who is getting back in shape. I was at 320 pounds at my heaviest, and my goal weight is 220. I was over halfway there until I fell off the wagon. Starting over is a bitch.

I enjoy kettlebells, clubbells, macebell, grip training, short steel bending, MMA, handball, squash, and badminton, but now that I live in a tiny apartment in South Korea, I am using TacFit Warrior. I just barely tolerate running...
